Problem
You have attempted to do an Inherit Backup State and you get a screen that has the error: Horse.
Horse is an easy to remember error, that makes it easy for customers to quickly convey what is happening to the support agent.
The horse error, can be caused by several things, but typically it is caused by security software that hampers the transfer process, or that blocks the data that Backblaze program is downloading from the data center or that is not allowing the program access to contact the data center.
The Horse error can be caused from a timeout with the process.
Finally, the Horse error can be caused by not having the client attached to a trial or an actively uploading installation.
Solution
If you get the horse error, please adjust any firewall and other security programs to all the Bztransmit process to run unhindered.
Mac location of the bztransmit process: /Library/Backblaze.bzpkg/bztransmit
Windows Location of bztransmit.exe and bztransmit64.exe : C:\Program Files (x86)\Backblaze\bztransmit.exe and C:\Program Files (x86)\Backblaze\x64\bztransmit64.exe.
NOTE: On 64-bit windows installations, which is most installations now, you will want to allow the bztransmit64.exe process.
Be sure that you have installed recently, and that you have a trial on your account, or that Backblaze is currently uploading. If you do not have a trial on the account you have removed it, then you will need to go here, and download the installer and then install with the email address from the account that has the machine that you wish to transfer to.
Then attempt the transfer once more.
