(Please see our articles on How to Create a Restore and How to Order a Restore Drive for help with creating and ordering Restores)
After you have ordered a Restore Drive, the status of your drive can be checked from the "My Restores" page of your account. This page can be found by logging into your Backblaze.com account and navigating to the page labeled "My Restores", linked on the lefthand side of the page.
On the "My Restores" page, you will see the progress of your drive's build. If it is currently being prepared you will see a percentage next to "USB Hard Drive" as well as the word "Processing".
It generally takes 2 to 4 business days per 1,000 GB of data to prepare, copy and encrypt a drive, with at least a full business day required regardless of the size of the requested Restore.
Once prepared, the drive will be shipped via FedEx. If you are located in the continental United States, the drive will ship overnight. If you are located outside the United States, the drive will ship using FedEx International Priority, which can be as few as 1 to 3 days for many locations, or as much as 10 days for remote locations.
Please note that Restores are only built Monday through Friday, and are not processed over the weekend.
Once your Restore Drive has finished being built and has shipped you will receive an email confirming the shipment of your drive. This email will link to your "My Restores" page for further information.
Continuing to your "My Restores" page after the drive has been shipped, you will see that the drive status will have been updated to "Shipped". You can also access the code to unlock your drive once you receive it from this page. You will also see a button labeled "Track", clicking this will show the tracking information for the drive.
For security purposes, the only place to access the tracking number for the drive you have ordered is from your "My Restores" page. Likewise, this is the only area that your Drive Unlock Code can be accessed.
