Restoring for:

Windows Microsoft Outlook

1.

Sign into the Backblaze.com site

Click the "Sign in to Restore" link and enter your Backblaze account email address and password.

2.

Select the Computer you want to Restore

Click the "Restore File" link next to the computer's name you want to restore.

3.

Select the Files to Restore

On the 'View/Restore Files' page click the folders:
C: > Users > YOURNAME > AppData > Local > Microsoft >Outlook
Select the Windows Live Mail folder and click the button 'Continue with Restore'

4.

Download the restore zip file

Backblaze will email you when your restore file has been prepared. It can take anywhere from a minute to a few hours depending on the size to prepare the download file. You can then click on the 'My Restores' page and download the zip restore. Usually your web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome) will download the restore file to your 'Downloads' folder (C:/Users/YOURNAME/Downloads).
Wait for the download to complete and then double click the zip file to uncompress the files.

Tips for Downloading your Restore File:

• Internet Explorer Issues
When you use Internet Explorer to download a file, it will put a yellow bar at the top of the page. Click the bar and select 'Download File'. Then you will need to click the 'Download' button again.
Select 'Save' from the Windows Dialog that will pop-up. This will save the restore zip to your Downloads folder.

• Use 7-Zip to Uncompress
Use the program 7-zip if you have any issues with uncompressing the zip restore. It can be downloaded for free at: http://www.7-zip.org/download.html. Once you install it you can right click on the zip restore and select '7-zip' > 'Extract here'.

5.

Copy Restores to the Correct Folder

Once you have unzipped the restore file, you can open it up and view the files. Open up your local Outlook folder on your local computer found in:
C: > Users > YOURNAME > AppData > Local > Microsoft >Outlook
We recommend creating a new folder called 'old' and put your local copy the files inside. Then select and move your files from the Downloads folder to the local Outlook folder.

Launch Microsoft Outlook and make sure your email was restored succesfully.
